In 2025, the online casino gambling industry was astounded when an online casino poker game purchased by Excapsa from Ultimatebet through a third party retailer was found to include a tool to enable cheating within the game. The internet gambling company immediately released a statement saying that they were unaware of such tool and claimed that it already existed prior to their purchase of the game. After years of litigation, the Montreal Gazette reported that the online casinos involved have reached a settlement with Blast Off, the owner of the internet poker gaming brand Ultimatebet.

XMT Liquidations served as the middle person who made arrangements between the two companies in order to expedite the process and eliminate further litigation cost. The settlement was approved by the Ontario Court and by more than two thirds of the shareholders. Excapsa had agreed to pay $15 million to Blast Off in exchange of a final and full release of all claims related to the allegations of cheating on the websites powered by Ultimatebet. In addition to this agreement, Excapsa will also have an ownership interest in all online casino gaming software owned by Blast Off and all of its subsidiaries.

The announcement made by XMT said that their primary goal in the negotiations was to restart payments and avoid costly and lengthy litigations. XMT was able to accomplish this and the next stage is to maximize recovery for Excapsa’s shareholders. They added that their investigations had confirmed that the cheat tool in Ultimatebet’s online casinos was already there even before Excapsa purchased the product. XMT will continue to evaluate their options in order to recover as much of the cost that Excapsa incurred during the settlement proceedings.
